Xbox One beats PlayStation 4 in US console sales for April, 2015
After a few weeks of trailing the Sony PlayStation 4 in terms of sales, the Xbox One from Microsoft has finally beaten its arch rival in sales numbers for the US market in the month of April, 2015. While the situation around the world may not be as good as the US market, it has been a Xbox stronghold in console sales, and we’re finally seeing the Xbox One gain back ground on the PlayStation 4.
While Microsoft has not revealed solid numbers for Xbox One sales, the company’s Corporate Vice President for Xbox marketing, Mike Nichols said the following in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz:
As the best-selling console in the U.S. in April, fans set record April sales and engagement for Xbox One last month. Xbox One console sales in the U.S. increased 63 percent in April 2015 compared to April 2014 and Xbox Live comparisons showed the number of active global users (Xbox One and Xbox 360) grew 24 percent. We are grateful to our fans for their passion and support and are looking forward to sharing more on the best game lineup in Xbox history at E3,
In a confirmation of sorts, Sony also released a statement saying that its console is still leading the race in sheer cumulative terms.
