Xiaomi to roll out MIUI 7.1 update tomorrow
Xiaomi is preparing to roll out a point update to MIUI 7 tomorrow. MIUI 7.1 roll out will begin with virtually all devices running MIUI 7, except some devices on China-specific ROM versions.
While Xiaomi keeps rolling out updates frequently, they are more often than not small security patches. The current batch of devices are running on MIUI 7.0.5, so the jump to MIUI 7.1 suggests that there won’t be any major feature addition. Xiaomi will also retain the same Android version with MIUI 7.1. Some reports a few days back were suggesting that Xiaomi is planning to skip the Lollipop update and roll out MIUI update based on Marshmallow, so this comes as a sort of a surprise. However, the Marshmallow update could still be coming and this could just be a small update in the meantime.
Xiaomi has not revealed any other information except for the devices that will be getting the update to MIUI 7.1.
