Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launched In India For Rs. 9,999 With Snapdragon 625
Xiaomi today formally launched the much awaited Redmi Note 4 in India. Taking over from the highly successful and more powerful Redmi Note 3, the Redmi Note 4 features most of the same specs from its predecessor save for the camera and the processor. The new phone starts at the same price as the Redmi Note 3 did, at Rs. 9,999.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD display. It also comes with a stronger, more scratch-resistant 2.5D curved glass. At 5.5 inches and with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, you get a pixel density of ~401 PPI.
Coming to software, the Redmi Note 4 comes with MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi made it a point to mention that the company is already testing the Android 7.0 Nougat update on the Redmi Note 4, and that it will be released once the company has ensured it is release quality.
As for the SoC, the Redmi Note 4 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, clocked at 1.8 GHz. It comes with Adreno 506 GPU. Xiaomi is offering the phone in three variants – 2 GB RAM with 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. The phone also comes with hybrid microSD card slot.
Coming to the imaging, Xiaomi has used a BSI CMOS sensor for the rear camera. It now comes with a 13 MP camera on the back, featuring an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is assisted by dual tone dual LED flash and Phase Detection Autofocus. It can shoot up to 1080p videos at 30 FPS. The phone comes with a 5 MP camera on the front.
Connectivity options remain the same. You get dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, Infrared, GPS and FM Radio. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back. It is powered by a 4100 mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 starts at Rs. 9,999. The following are the prices of the three variants launched by the company:
- 2 GB RAM with 32 GB storage – Rs. 9,999
- 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage – Rs. 10,999
- 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage – Rs. 12,999
Xiaomi will start selling the Redmi Note 4 on Mi.com and Flipkart, exclusively. The phone will be available in Gold, Grey, Silver and Black colour options.
