Xiaomi Redmi 5 released in India

Priced at Rs.7,999/- for 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant, Rs.8,999/- for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, 10,999/- for 4GB RAM And 64GB variant, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 budget smartphone with minimal bezel display will be on sale on Amazon India and Mi India websites from 20th of March. As will most Xiaomi devices, the flash sale circus continues. There is no mention of Android though and it looks like that phone may come with Nougat instead of Oreo.

At launch, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will come with instand 2200 rupee cashback from Reliance Jio and users also get 100GB additional data. Other offers include 5% discount with SBI cards and 90% off (upto) on first Kindle eBook purchase (maximum of $s.400). Xiaomi will also bundle free ultra slim cover with the smartphone.

Redmi 5 launch offers include an instant Rs. 2,200 cashback from Reliance Jio with 100GB of additional data, and a 5 percent discount on Amazon India and Mi.com using SBI credit cards. Users will also get 90 percent off on their first Kindle eBooks purchase (up to Rs. 400). Buyers will get a free ultra-slim cover with the smartphone.

It is well known that the Redmi series is a massive hit in India in 2017 and this lineup pushed Xiaomi to be #1 in sales in India. With features like minimal bezel display, we may see Xiaomi pulling ahead of others in budget segment. The onboard SD450 chip is a capable budget chip and is very good for day to day tasks.
