Xiaomi Mi 5 launched in India at Rs. 24,999
The Xiaomi Mi5 has been launched in India a month after it was made available in China. Xiaomi has launched the Mi5 and has priced it at Rs. 24,999 for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant. The device will go on sale from via Mi.com, starting from April 6. Hugo Barra has confirmed that it will soon be available through other retailers as well.
While there are multiple variants of the Xiaomi Mi5 in China, India will only receive the 32 GB variant for now. The dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) with curved 3D Ceramic glass, and a pixel density of 428ppi.
It is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage. The Xiaomi Mi5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 7 skinned on top. The device features a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded into the Home Button.
The Mi5 features a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera sensor with phase detection autofocus, 4-axis OIS, dual-tone dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. The device also sports a 4-UltraPixel front camera, with 2-micron pixels. Both the cameras feature an f/2.0 aperture.
On the connectivity front, the phone supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The device is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
