Xiaomi launch MiPad for 12999 in India, available from 24th of March
Xiaomi MiPad is definitely one of the best Android running tablets out there in the market. Powered by Tegra K1 chip with Kepler GPU, MiPad has a 7.9″ 2048×1536 pixel resolution display that has amazing 326ppi display density. There is 2GB of RAM onboard, 16GB of storage space and best part is that unlike other Xiaomi devices, this one has microSD card slot (expandable up to 128GB). Starting March 24th, those in India will be able to purchase the MiPad for just 12,999 rupees. In India, it will be only available in White though we would have prefered other much colorful variants. Given the specs, MIUI, Mi Cloud features and the design, this is going to create a major headache for competition.
MiPad has 11 hours of video streaming battery life, 17 hours for reading, 86 hours of music playback and 1300 hours of stanby time. MiPad is just 360grams heavy and has a thickness of 8.5mm. This is thanks to a magnesium alloy that is typically used in aviation and competitive cycling industries, used to create the frame for MiPad. Being super light, the alloy also has excellent heat distribution and can absorb shocks twice as much as aluminum alloy.
