Microsoft had launched a $25 Wireless Adapter for Xbox One users who wished to connect up to eight Xbox One controllers to a single Windows computer. Initially compatible only with Windows 10, today Microsoft released an update to the driver to help it work with Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 as well.
Microsoft has been trying quite hard to push its users to Windows 10, its latest operating system. The $25 adapter which was launched in October was compatible only with Windows 10 until now. While Microsoft may have managed to push desperate users to install Windows 10, the company now does not bother you if you don’t want to install the latest version of Windows. The new update to the Wireless Adapter’s drivers makes it compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 computers as well.
