Windows 10 crosses 200 million installs
It seems that Microsoft’s free upgrade strategy for Windows 10 is working pretty good. Microsoft announced back in October that Windows 10 had surpassed 110 million installations worldwide and now there are reports that Windows 10 has been installed over 200 million times. Windows 10 was installed 14 million times the day it was released and it reached the 50 million mark in just 3 weeks.
Windows 10 was released to the public exactly 5 months ago today, meaning the operating system has averaged around 40 million new installs a month. Holiday sales have certainly increased Windows 10 devices along with Microsoft pushing users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to update to Windows 10 and that too for free. Microsoft’s goal is to reach 1 billion installs in three years, and that could very well happen considering the current figures.
