This is what Dell’s future workspace looks like
At Dell World event in Austin, Dell gave a sneak peak into how Dell is going to shape the future workspace. The new workspace consists of Dell UltraSharp 27″ 5k resolution display and a touch sensitive work surface that alighs with the productivity requirements of applications that are part of the ecosystem. The horizontal touch area makes it lot more ergonomic for end user than using a touch screen monitor. This is very similar to HP’s Sprout desktop PC that we covered last week.
The horizontal workspace will be paired with plugins from Independent Software Vendor (ISV) applications, activities are divided into primary and secondary activities, accesible through various screen swipes. The workspace will support 10-finger multitouch gestures, pen functions and gestures. The customization and collaboration can be done so deep that multiple work areaa can be clustered around specific projects.
“Once an innovation proves to greatly increase productivity, it becomes hard to remember how we got by using the antiquated method it replaced: rolodexes vs digital contacts, faxes vs emails, typewriters vs computers. The Dell smart desk concept revolutionizes the productivity of digital artists, engineers, architects, and scientific analysts operating high-performance professional applications with the introduction of a new interactive zone. By combining interactive LCD touch screens with innovations in user experience in conjunction with participation from key Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners and Dell Precision workstation performance, the Dell smart desk will change creative, design, and analysis workflows for the better while introducing a new, immersive way for professionals to interact with those demanding workflows.”, said Rocco Ancona, Engineer, End User Computing CTO Group
