Western Digital redesign My Passport Ultra and My Passport for Mac portable HDDs
Western Digital My Passport Ultra portable and My Passport for Mac drives are one of the best selling external hard drives. Today, WD has announced full design refresh for the famous external hard drive lineup. Also, My Passport Ultra and My Passport for Mac portable hard drives are now available in capacities up to 3TB and in four stylish colors (Classic Black, Brilliant White, Wild Berry, Noble Blue). Also announced is a new WD Grip Pack which is a soft band (available in variety of colors) that helps users personalize their hard drives. My Passport Ultra and My Passport for Mac portable drives are available today for MSRP ranging from $79.99 up to $199.99 depending on capacity. The 3 TB capacity variant will be made available starting June. WD Grip Pack accessories will cost $12.99 and will be launched in June. Both portable drives will come with 3 year limited warranty.
For security, WD My Passport Ultra comes with 256-bit hardware encryption. My Passport Ultra is compatible with USB 3.0 and can be purchased in capacities of 3TB, 2TB, 1TB and 500GB. This way, once a secure password set, others will not be able to access the hard drive content without the password. My Passport for Mac portable drives are available in capacities of 3 TB, 2 TB, 1 TB and also feature 256-bit AES hardware encryption with USB 3.0 connectivity.
The WD Grip Pack accessory will be available in smoke, slate, grape, sky and fuchsia color options and acts as a wrapper for the portable hard drives. WD Grip Pack comes with color matched 18” flat USB 3.0 cable.
