Waze has officially announced a new version of their Android app that completely refreshes the user interface and adds various new features. This version leaked out of an alpha group a few weeks back. The update was announced with a video on YouTube.
The video shows a refreshed UI with heavy use of animations. The app is heading towards a Material Design. A panel on the left side of the screen provides users with quicker access to preset destinations, and there’s a better navigation experience that shows alerts for what’s coming up ahead. According to Waze, we’ll see a “new, cleaner design for easier navigation, reporting and sharing.”
The update is not available right now. It is going to come soon. We will let you know when that happens.
