Design
Vivo Z1x comes in two color variants and my review unit is what the call, the Phantom Purple. It is made of good quality plastic and the device looks flashy with its shiny gradient. It is a bit heavy and thick, but that’s because of the massive 4500 mAh battery which supports fast charging. It has USB C port and does not have support for memory card. It is a stylish mobile that is built to last.
Display
We now get a super AMOLED display on the Z1x. The display is brilliant. It has a fingerprint sensor under the display which is fast. The super AMOLED panel has amazing color reproduction performance and it is very bright. This FHD+ panel is 6.38 inch diagonally and the bezels around the mobile are very thin. We saw tiny punch hole notch in Z1 pro, but now we get a teardrop notch in Z1x. The large brilliant display is a treat to use.
Performance
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712AIE processor, the Vivo Z1x is a powerful gaming mobile. It has 6 GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 type memory. The gaming center in the software help optimizing the resources for gaming. The mobile has a snappy performance and it ticks the right checkmarks for most users.
Camera
At the back, we get a 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with 8 MP wide-angle shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front has a 32 MP selfie camera. It can shoot 4K videos on the rear and has EIS only for 1080p videos shot by the 48 MP primary camera. The wide-angle camera supports 1080p videos, but no EIS and no EIS for the front camera as well. It has night mode support and the UI has loads of fun features. I am impressed and check out the camera samples. I will have to click a few more shots before I publish my full review.
Software and Battery
The mobile runs on Funtouch OS, a skinned version of Android 9. The UI offers a lot of useful features and it comes with less number of bloatware, compared to Oppo’s ColorOS. Vivo Z1x has a massive 4500 mAh battery and in the box, you have a 22.5 W flash charger.
First Impressions
Gone are the days when we saw underpowered and high priced mobiles from Vivo. This is a new face of Vivo we are seeing and I am liking what I am seeing. The Vivo Z1x is a massive upgrade over Vivo Z1 pro. It is priced at Rs 16990 for the 6 GB/64 GB variant and Rs 18990 for the 6 GB/128 GB variant. At this price, it is a high-performance mobile that looks good and clicks impressive shots. I would be publishing my full review soon, stay tuned…
