Updating an Android phone is very easy. But before that, you have to make sure that your phone has atleast 40% of battery and that the process will take time. But before you update your phone, make sure that:
- Battery level is above 40% and make sure phone doesnt switch off.
- Do not use your phone or power off your phone.
- Do not root your phone as that voids warranty.
Go to [Settings] > [System Updates] and enable automatic updates, make sure that updates are downloaded only when you are on Wi-Fi. This way, when there is update, you will get notification to download and install udpates.
- Connect your phone to Wi-Fi network. If you want to update over mobile network, please check update size to make sure you do not end up using all of your mobile data quota.
- If automatic update notification is on, you will get notified of new updates.
- Tap on notification and start update.
- If not, go to ‘Settings’, select ‘System Updates’.
- If there is an update, download and update the firmware. The process is pretty straightforward.
- During and after the update, the phone will reboot multiple times.

Dont think there will be another OS udpate for this phone. When you plan to get a new phone, either get one that is known to get good updates or get one that has very good custom rom support. OnePlus and Samsung are good these days with OS udpates. Poco, Samsung, Oneplus phones get very good custom ROM support.
