There are instances where you want to install firmware/OS. One such case would be a problematic software update and you want to go to previous version. In this guide, we show you how to install a firmware and how to do a full reset from recovery mode. - Download phone’s firmware from Vivo’s official firmware website and copy it to phone’s internal storage or SD card.
- Switch off your phone.
- Simultaneously press Power button and Volume up till Vivo logo comes up, this will take you to Fastboot mode. Enter [Recovery mode]. If you do not see recovery mode button, press Volume down button and enter recovery mode by pressing Power button.
- To exit from recovery mode, long press power and volume down button at same time for 30 seconds and phone will reboot into Android.
If you only want to wipe data, click on ‘Wipe Data’, then either click on ‘wipe cache partition’ to only wipe cache or ‘wipe data’ to do a full wipe. Do note that if you wipe data before installing new firmware, it will remove the downloaded firmware file. Íf you have SD card installed in phone, copy the firmware file to SD card.
To install firmware, click on ‘Ínstall Update’, select ‘Phone Storage or SD card
Select the firmware file and click on [Next] to install the phone.
