[Video] Microsoft demoes Windows 10 phone apps on big screen with Continuum

Always wanted to run your phone apps on a bigger, better screen with bigger touch areas? You are in for some hope. After Canonical attempted to do this with its Ubuntu phone in a failed Indiegogo campaign, Microsoft is now trying to fix this feature request with Continuum.

Continuum was announced a while ago, but today the company announced support for the upcoming Windows 10 phones. These Windows 10 phones will be able to make use of Continuum if you hook them up an external keyboard and a big screen display. What will then happen is, those Windows 10 apps will expand in size and work like PC apps. All your user data will carry over to the bigger, PC version of the apps without you actually having to have a PC in the first place.

Continuum will of course require high end specs, and Microsoft has clarified this in its announcement today. This feature will only work with a limited set of Lumia devices, but the Lumia 1520, Lumia 930 at the very least should have Continuum support later this year when they are upgraded to Windows 10 for Phones.
