US government says Windows is the most popular OS in the USA
One of the federal agencies of the United States government, the Digital Analytics Program or DAP, says that Windows is the most popular end-user operating system in the country. According to data released by DAP, Windows beats iOS, Android, Macintosh and Others combined by a hefty 18% margin.
US government websites are visited by millions of users daily. Out of them, 58.4% use some version of Windows. iOS users come in at the second spot, with a share of 16.4%, followed by Android closely at 13.9%. Macintosh users account for 9.2% of the visitors and with the Others making up the remaining ~2%.
If you look at the above graph, you will notice that Windows 7 has the highest individual share at 41.5%. This alone is more than the combined share of iOS, Android, Macintosh and Others.
