Under Armour acquire MyFitnessPal and Endomondo
Endomondo and MyFitnessPal are among the best fitness tracking applications available for various operating systems. Under Amrour, an American sports clothing and accessories maker, announced the acquisition of both these fitness tracking apps/platforms. With 120 million global users, this makes Under Armous the world’s largest digital health and fitness community platform. The acquitions is definitely a surprise given that recently, Under Armour acquired MapMyFitness and UA RECORD application suites. Under Armour paid $475 million for MyFitnessPal and paid $84 million for Endomondo.
At the time of the acquisition Endomondo had 20 million registered users and provided fitness tracking platform and social fitness network that connected fitness lovers across the globe. Users can upload their activities to the network, create challenges, take part in challenges. MyFitnessPal on the other hand had 80 million registered users and provides free resources for health and fitness, nutritional information over five million foods, provide caloric data etc.
