Truecaller Truemessenger aims to weed out spam from your SMS inbox
Truecaller is a company known around the world for its caller identification service. A free app, Truecaller runs a check for the caller’s number in its database and updates the call screen with the information about the caller, letting you identify spammers before receiving their calls.
The company has today launched a new SMS app for India called Truemessenger. Truecaller is leveraging its 150 million strong worldwide community members to identify spam messages and hide them from you, weeding out the frustration of having to check your inbox for spammy messages.
Here are the features of Truemessenger:
- SMS ID: Identify the sender, even contacts not in your phonebook
- Block SMS: Avoid messages from unwanted numbers and contacts
- Report Spam: Help the community outsmart common spammers by reporting them
- Clean Inbox: Automatically sends spam messages to a separate folder
- Advanced Filter Options: create customized filters with known spam keywords or number series (area codes or country codes)
Truemessenger complements the dialer and caller apps already out on the Play Store. Like the other two apps, Truemessenger is free as well.
