TomTom Speed Cameras will help you avoid speeding tickets
Speeding tickets are quite a norm in the West, and sometimes, you do not notice when you’ve violated one of the speed limits. To help you avoid those heavy fines, TomTom has released an app.
The company is well known for its maps apps, and already has a similar app for iOS users (limited to the UK and Ireland, though). Speed Cameras has the following features:
- Fixed camera alerts: receive highly accurate audio and visual alerts for fixed camera locations in 28 countries
- Mobile camera alerts: get real-time updates on mobile cameras locations every minute
- Average speed check support: see your progress within average speed checks and ensure your average speed is below the speed limit
- Powered by TomTom maps: because the app knows which road you are driving on, it only alerts you when necessary, helping you keep your eyes on the road
- Community camera reporting: help make the roads safer by easily adding new, confirming existing or removing disappeared mobile camera locations
- Road speed limit warnings: know if you’re speeding, even when there is no camera approaching
- Map view: browse the map if you quickly want to see the cameras around you
TomTom currently supports 28 European countries. The app comes a subscription service – the first three months are free, after which you can either go for the monthly plan for £1.99, or the yearly plan for £15.49.
