Teaser indicates Huawei Mate 8 arriving on November 26
Huawei has started teasing the launch of its upcoming device, the Mate 8, which is expected to be unveiled on November 26. The teaser was shared via Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter). The Huawei Mate 8 is expected to ship with the company’s new Kirin 950 SoC, which will likely be the company’s chipset for high-end devices.
An alleged picture of the Mate 8 was posted on Weibo this week showing the uncovered back of the device. It looks like the devices has a fingerprint reader just below the primary camera. Based on the GFXBench 3.1 listing, the Mate 8 will feature a 6.0-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, a 2.2GHz octal core CPU HiSilicon Kirin 950, ARM Mali-T880 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB, 15MP primary camera, 7MP front-facing shooter, and 4K video recording capability.
Pricing and Availability:
The device is said to cost CNY 3,299 ($520) for the 3GB RAM variant and CNY 3,899 ($610) for the 4GB variant.
