Sygic acquires Fuelio fuel and expense tracking app, makes it free
Popular navigation service Sygic has acquired Fuelio, a fuel and costs tracking app. While the acquisition makes great business sense for Sygic and Fuelio, it also means that the users of Fuelio can now have all the premium features for free.
Sygic has done away with the premium pricing of Fuelio, opening up all the paid features to free users as well. This points to an acqui-hire and we are possibly going to see Fuelio being integrated into Sygic in some way in the future. However, this does not mean that Fuelio will be abandoned, as its developer Adrian Kajda is still going to be the project lead and will continue to work on the app.
Fuelio’s features at a glance:
- Mileage log (track your fill-ups, costs, fuel economy, partial fillups, gps location)
- Vehicle management – costs
- Useful statistics (total statistics, fill-ups, costs, average, fuel economy stats)
- Show your fill-ups on Google Map
- Charts (fuel consumption, fuel costs, monthly costs…)
- Dropbox Backup
- Google Drive Backup
- Reminders (date, odo counter)
