Sponsored search results are coming to Google Play Store
Google has announced that it will begin showing ads in its app store for Android. The Search giant made the announcement in a blog post, saying that a small set of users will begin seeing ads soon.
Google has revealed that over a billion users search over a 100 billion times every month on Google.com, making the leap to the Google Play store ads argument. I guess it was only a matter of time before this happened. Either way, Google will show an “Ad” tag for sponsored results to denote a paid-for search result.
With the way the Play store is spammed daily with hundreds of new free pay-to-play games, absolutely scammy apps etc, the search results were already getting rubbish. These new ads could make it a bit more harder to reach to what you were looking for.
