Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPe getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update
Google is pushing out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play edition, shortly after pushing out the update to the LG G Pad 8.3 GPe.
The Xperia Z Ultra GPe, a giant phablet with a 6.4” display, is getting the update before other, more recent Xperia GPe devices, and way before HTC’s One M8 and M7 GPe devices. HTC had submitted the update already to Google, and made an announcement about it recently, but today they’ve said that Google hasn’t completed testing it.
Lollipop brings a lot of changes to Android – the design language has changed from Holo to Material, the runtime has changed from Dalvik to ART and there are other security improvements like SE Linux enforcing mode for all apps, making it more secure than before.
