Sony Xperia Touch Projector adds touch input to projector

Sony Xperia Touch Projector is a new innovation from Sony that turns any flat surface into a 23″ touch input. Xperia Touch runs Android OS and will be launching in select markets in Spring 2017, with a suggested retail price of €14993.

“Xperia Touch is a revolutionary interface” said Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO, at Sony Mobile Communications. “A year on from unveiling our new brand direction and vision for the future of communications, not only are we announcing Xperia XZ Premium, equipped with the most advanced technologies to enhance the essential features on smartphones, we’re creating whole new interactive communication experiences with our Xperia Smart Products.”

Sony Xperia Touch can be used for horizontal or vertical ultrashort throw projection. The built in camera and Infrared light tracks movement at 60 frames per second. The interface is built using Sony’s SXRD projection display technology.

Sony Xperia Touch home screen skin is minimalistic and designed to be accessible/visible in any lighting condition. The UI also provides real time weather information, memo board, calendar and Skype portal for video chat. Xperia TOuch is compatible with PlayStation 4 Remote Play, can run app or game downloaded from Google Play Store.
