Sony picks a tiny list of phones for Android 7.0 Nougat update
Sony has announced an official list of devices that will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. From the flagship Z series, only Z3+ and higher variants will be getting the update and there is no other Xperia smartphone that is listed. As expected, all the phones under the new X series will be udpated to Nougat.
This is not so good news for Sony as the company is already struggling to sell smartphones and tablets. Models that did not make it to the list may still get an update but no body knows for sure. We have seen in the past that phones listed to get the updates are later dropped while those that were not picked for updates earlier gets updated to new version. Here is the list
- Xperia Z3+
- Xperia Z4 Tablet
- Xperia Z5
- Xperia Z5 Compact
- Xperia Z5 Premium
- Xperia X
- Xperia XA
- Xperia XA Ultra
- Xperia X Performance
