Sony announce Media Player for Playstation 4
When Sony released the PlayStation 3, the bluray slot and media playback capabilities were one of the highlighted features. But with PlayStation 4, Sony removed media playback capability and made it a pure gaming console. Media Player functionality has been a highly requested feature from PS4 users and at E3 today, Sony has announced that PS4 users can download and install a media player from the Sony PlayStation Store.
The Media Player can play content from home media server and also play videos from USB stick plugged into the USB port. Below is the list of file formats and codecs that will be supported by the Media Player.
