Snapchat, one of the most popular image sharing networks, has a couple of major announcements to make. The company behind the app has been renamed to Snap Inc., from its original name Snapchat Inc. Additionally, the company also announced the launch of its first ever gadget called Spectacles.

Apart from renaming the company to Snap Inc., helping it branch out from its first product Snapchat, we now have a new gadget called Spectacles. Spectacles are a pair of sunglasses that come with a video camera and an LED light. The video camera placed on the right side comes with a 115 degree view, allowing you to record on the go like, say, a GoPro. These Spectacles let you record 10 second videos, which are then sent over to your smartphone over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, whichever is available. These videos are then saved in the Snapchat app, allowing you to send them to your friends or create Stories.
So what really differentiates Spectacles from the likes of GoPro? Apart from the fact that these look a little funky, the Spectacles record videos in circular format. The app lets you play them in circular format or full screen. Things get interesting when you go full screen – irrespective of how you hold the phone, your view remains the same.
