SanDisk announce Extreme 900 and Extreme 500 portable SSDs
SanDisk has announced the Extreme 900 and Extreme 500 Portable SSDs at Computex 2015 event today. While SandDisk Extreme 900 will be the worlds fastest lineup of Type-C based portable SSDs, Extreme 500 is compact sized rugged portable SSD series. The SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSDs will be available worldwide in capacities of 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, at MSRPs of $99.99, $149.99 and $239.99 respectively. The SanDisk Extreme 900 SSDs will be available worldwide in capacities of 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB at MSRPs of $399.99, $599.99 and $999.99, respectively. Both new SSD lines feature a three-year warranty.

Extreme 900 Portable SSDs, thanks to the super speed is compatible with 4K resolution video playback. Can attain 850MB/s and come with USB Type-C and Type-A cables that gives users flexibility to connect to respective ports. The series SSDs comes with aluminum case for durability. Extreme 500 on the other hand is smaller than a smartphone and delivers four times that speed of a portable HDD. Extreme 500 can reach speeds up to 415MB/s and is available in capacities up to 480GB. Extreme 500 comes with sleek black finish with rubber bumpers for safety and metal ring that can be used to clip the SSD in a bag.
