Samsung unveils S7 Edge Olympics Edition
Smartphone giant, Samsung today unveiled a special limited edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio. The device will be sold in selected countries only from July 18. In America, the device will be sold exclusively by Best Buy from July 18. Other countries where the device will be sold are Brazil, China, Germany, and South Korea.
The 12,500 athletes participating in the Olympics will get a Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition, along with a pair of Gear IconX wireless earbuds. Pricing of the device for consumers is not known at the moment.
The device comes with the same specs as the S7 Edge. Let’s just recall the specs of the device. It runs on TouchWiz UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The device features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display comes with a pixel density of ~534 ppi. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
The device is powered by a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
The Galaxy S7 Edge Olympics Edition comes with a 12 MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is a 5 MP secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture.
The device is powered by a 3,600 mAh battery with Quick Charge support. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC and microUSB v2.0.
