Samsung pay is now available in India

Earlier this week, Samsung launched its wireless payment, Samsung Pay in India. Samsung has about 30% of market share in India and with this kind of penetration, they can turn the digital India dream, true. With Samsung pay, all you have to do is to enroll your debit card, credit card, mobile wallet or UPI with the app. At the POS, just open the Samsung Pay app and tap it on the swipe machine. It will work with any regular card swipe machine which has NFC or MST. NFC opens up a wireless between the payment terminal and the mobile to get the payment info. Magnetic secure transmission created a dynamic magnetic field for the same. Either ways, most of the machine has them already and there is no need for any additional hardware upgrade. But the pay app is not available on all mobiles. It is available only on select Samsung devices.

While the banks and payment gateways are getting on-board, Samsung Pay already has support for  credit and debit cards of Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. It supports State Bank of India, Citibank and American Express. Paytm is the mobile wallet on Samsung Pay and Axis bank UPI is also supported.

Samsung Pay was launched in 2015 and including India, China and US, it is now available in 12 countries.
