Samsung Galaxy Active Neo ruggest smartphone launched in Japan
Samsung is continuing to expand its line of rugged smartphones today with the launch of the Galaxy Active Neo. The Korean giant announced the launch of the phone in Japan with NTT Docomo.
Aiming at the mid-range, the Galaxy Active Neo comes with a 4.5 inch WVGA display, a quad core Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. On the back, the Galaxy Active Neo houses an 8 MP camera with an LED flash, along with a 2 MP camera on the front. The internal storage is fixed at 16 GB, expandable with a microSD card.
The Active Neo comes with a 2200 mAh battery, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. The phone carries an IP68 certification, meaning it can resist dust and water up to 1.5M for 30 minutes. Additionally, the MIL-STD-810G certification means that you get salt and sea water, dust, radiation, vibration and rain resistance.
The latest in the series of rugged smartphones from Samsung comes with quite mediocre specs, and the price of JPY 20,000 ($167) makes it a bit more worse. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Active Neo in other markets soon.
