Samsung Galaxy A8 launched in Japan
Samsung is continuing to iterate on its premium Galaxy A series of smartphones with the launch of the Galaxy A8 for Japan today. The Galaxy A8 comes with an octa core Exynos 5433 processor and a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display.
Samsung hasn’t updated the specs of the Galaxy A8 for 2016, as some had expected. However, the Japanese version of the Galaxy A8 comes with an Exynos 5433 processor instead of the Snapdragon 615 processor.
- Android 5.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz on top
- 5.7 inch Super AMOLED full HD display
- Octa core Exynos 5433 processor
- 16 MP camera, LED flash, full HD recording, front facing 5 MP camera
- 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage expandable with a microSD card
- LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, FM Radio, VoLTE, WiMax 2+
- 3050 mAh battery
Other than the change of processor, nothing else has changed. Samsung has meanwhile been updating the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 for 2016, so it was expected that the Galaxy A8 announcement would showcase a new and updated device. Either way, that announcement now looks distant.
