Samsung brings all Windows products under ATIV branding, announced two new notebooks
Samsung first announced ATIV branding when they announced Windows 8 laptop, tablet and Windows Phone 8 smartphone last year. Unfortunately, none of those products really took off and now, Samsung has decided to extent the brand name ATIV to more Samsung products. ATIV Book branding will be used for notebooks, ATIV One is for All-in-One desktops and ATIV Tab for tablets. The table above shows the old model number and the new model number under ATIV branding for existing Windows devices from Samsung.

These synergies enable us to maintain our momentum and continue to offer our customers innovations that enhance the way they live and work.”
Samsung has also announced availability of ATIV Book 5 and ATIV Book 6. Book 5 is a 14” Ultrabook that is powered by Intel Core i5-3337U, has 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive and 24GB ExpressCache and is powered by Windos 8 OS. Book 5 has a battery life of 6.5 hours. ATIV Book 6 on the other hand is a powerful notebook powered by Core i7-3635QM running at 2.4GHz, has a gorgeous 1080p FullHD 15.6” display, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, AMD Radeon HD8770M GPU and has a battery life of 4.5 hours.
Samsung has also announced SideSync technology which will be exclusive to ATIV branded devices. SideSync allows users to switch work from PC to Samsung’s Android smartphone by connecting the devices using USB cable. The application will come preloaded on all Windows 8 ATIV models. Consider SideSync as a better version of Kies. Users can SMS using PC keyboard, view maps and multimedia content from phone on PC screen and the usual drag and drop for file copy between devices.
