At Samsung developer conference in San Francisco, Samsung has surprised everyone by announcing the world’s first 3D 360o omniview camera, part of Project Beyond research. The new camera creates scene like the human eye by using stereoscopic interleaved campture and 3D-aware stitching technology. The camera is the first operational version of the project and is not yet available for sale. The content generated from Project Beyond will be made available to every Gear VR user as soon as possible.
“With Project Beyond, the Gear VR will become a gateway to an ever-increasing pool of content that allows users to instantly teleport to places and events they always wanted to see.
