Samsung announce PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD and microSD card lineup
Samsung Electronics America this week announced new memory card lineups, PRO Plus and EVO Plus. PRO Plus will support bandwidth to record 4K resolution videos directly onto the memory card. With read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s respectively, the PRO Plus is rated UHS-I Speed Class 3 (U3) for SD card while the microSD card is rated Class 10. EVO Plus come with 80MB/s and 20MB/s read and write speeds and is rated USH-I Speed Class 1 (U1) for SD card and Class 10 for microSD. PRO Plus and EVO Plus microSD cards will be available in market starting this month while SD size cards will be released later.

PRO Plus lineups will come in 32GB and 64GB storage capacities and EVO Plus will come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes. The PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD cards come with Samsung 5-proof protection (note that this is not for the microSD cards). SD cards can work after being submerged in sea water for 72 hours, can withstand operating temperatures from -25°C to 85°C (-13°F to 185°F) and non operating temperatures between -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). These cards will not be affected by X-rays and can resist upto 15,000 gauss magnetic force and are also shock proof. The microSD card variants are water proof, temperature proof, X-ray proof and magnetic proof.
