Rdio launched in India, offers unlimited ad-free streaming for ₹120 per month
There are quite a few streaming services available in India these days. Gaana, Saavn, Hungama to name a few. Rdio, a popular streaming service in the US, has launched in India, nine months after acquiring another Indian streaming service called Dhingana.
Listening to Rdio’s music stations is free, but on-demand streaming and offline playback will require you to have one of the few subscription packs the company is offering.
The plans:
- Free: free streaming of radio stations on mobile, ad-supported
- ₹60 per month: ad-free streaming on desktops
- ₹120 per month: Unlimited ad-free streaming on mobiles, desktop. Supports offline playback
- ₹179 per month: Two unlimited subs, ad-free streaming on mobiles, desktop. Supports offline playback. Additional unlimited subscription for ₹59.50 up to 5 subs, for a total of ₹357.
Rdio offers services in 61 countries across the world with over 30 million songs in its catalogue. Over the last nine months after the acquisition of Dhingana, the company has been working with music labels in the country to sign licensing deals.
The Rdio app is available on Apple App store, Google Play store and the Windows Phone store.
