Raspberry announce PIXEL desktop for PC and Mac
Raspberry is famous for making the Pi credit card size computer running heavily scaled down Linux based OS. A Raspberry Pi computer is priced at 35$. Now, Raspberry has announced PIXEL OS for PCs and Macs. The new OS comes with a clean and modern UI, curated suite of tools for productivity and programming, Chromium web browser and more. Best part is that this OS can run on computers that have 512MB of RAM.
Raspberry PIXEL OS is based on Debian OS and runs on x86 hardware. You can download the OS image from here. You can either run it using USB stick (Live OS) or install using a DVD or USB.
The current version of PIXEL OS is a prototype and not a final release version. Do report to Raspberry Pi if you face any issues and see any bugs with the OS. Raspberry Pi cannot accept any liability for any loss of data or damage to computer systems from using the image as this is a fairly new OS still in prototype state.
