Qualcomm is now testing Snapdragon 810, set to debut at CES and MWC next year
Qualcomm has started testing its new flagship Snapdragon chipset, called the Snapdragon 810. This new chipset, set to debut at the CES and MWC expos next year, will be powering the next generation of flagships.
The Snapdragon 810 will be coming with an octa-core processor and 64-bit support, a new GPU in the form of Adreno 430 and support for LTE Cat 9. In comparison, Samsung is going to include support for LTE Cat 10 in its Exynos line of processors, which will be used in the Galaxy S6.
LTE Cat 9 will support 450 Mbps downloads and 50 Mbps uploads. Samsung’s next-gen Exynos chipset will support LTE Cat 10, which will offer the same download speeds, but double to upload speeds of Cat 9.
Of course, not everyone will be able to see all the benefits of LTE Cat 9 support just yet. However, the US giant has confirmed that it’s testing Snapdragon 810 in the UK with Huawei and EE.
