Outlook.com gets Skype integration, global rollout yet to happen
This is very good news for Outlook.com lovers. Microsoft has announced integration of Skype to Outlook.com. Currently, this is available only for users in UK, USA and Germany and a global rollout will happen in coming weeks. Users can do audio and video calling (powered by Skype) from their Outlook.com inbox and Skype conversations are added to the email account. This means that Outlook.com, the fastest growing e-mail network (with more than 60 million accounts) will be able to match Google’s Gmail in more areas (email, chat, audio calling, video calling).
If you are supported user for the integration, you need to install a plugin in your browser (IE, Chrome and Firefox currently supported) and Skype will become visible in your Outlook account. You also get option to merge Skype contacts into Outlook.com contacts.
