Oppo ColorOS 5.2 : Update software

Updating an Android phone is very easy. But before that, you have to make sure that your phone has atleast 40% of battery and that the process will take time. During this time, you should not operate or power off your phone. You can access our full list of guides for Oppo Color OS 5.2 in this page.

Go to this guide if you are using newer Oppo/Realme phone running ColorOS 6. You can also access our recommended smartphone list to get list of best smartphones that you can buy.

In Oppo ColorOS 5.2, there are three ways to update your device.

But before you update your phone, make sure that:

  1. Battery level is above 40% and make sure phone doesnt switch off.
  2. Do not use your phone or power off your phone.
  3. Do not root your phone as that voids warranty.

Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] and enable automatic updates, make sure that updates are downloaded only when you are on Wi-Fi. This way, when there is update, you will get notification to download and install udpates.

  • Connect your phone to Wi-Fi network. If you want to update over mobile network, please check update size to make sure you do not end up using all of your mobile data quota.
  • If automatic update notification is on, you will get notified of new updates.
  • Tap on notification and start update.
  • If not, go to ‘Settings’, select ‘Software Updates’.
  • If there is an update, download and update the firmware. The process is pretty straightforward.
  • During and after the update, the phone will reboot multiple times.
