Opera browser, one of the most popular browsers from smartphones out there, just released a brand new update for the Android version today. The new update bumps Opera to v37 and brings some much needed design changes among other improvements. The update should be out for all users across the world by now.
Opera Browser Update Changelog
Apart from giving the browser a new lick of paint, the developers at Opera have also added a news feed to the list of features. This news feed apparently helps you to get the latest news across categories, which can be customized depending on your requirements. You can also save up on data and get an ad-free experience in the news feed, helping you to enjoy a distraction free experience.
In addition to that, the Speed Dial page also sees a major face uplift. To its left, you get the news feed, which can be customized. It also comes with a Reader mode, giving you a distraction free experience by weeding out ads and other web page shenanigans.
Next up is the personal corner of the browser. Tap on the person icon in the bottom-right corner, and there you can find a handy overview of your offline pages, bookmarks, history and downloads. You can also sign in here to sync your Speed Dial, bookmarks, tabs and typed history across your devices.
The three-dot overflow button on the top right houses different options including the Data Saver toggle, the Add To button and Find In Page utility that lets you search for text/words in a web page. You can also add individual web pages to the Speed Dial using the Add To button.
Opera browser is now based on Chromium, and uses webkit engine, so your browsing experience should be fairly similar to what you get in Chrome. However, Opera’s data saver feature saves you far more data than Chrome, depending on what kind of setting you have.
Opera Browser for Android is available for free from the Play Store.
