OnePlus 2 vs Motorola Moto X Style : Which is the better phone?

The announcement of OnePlus 2 and the Motorola Moto Style/Pure flagship smartphones happened on same day and both come with killer pricing (both cost less than 400$). OnePlus claimed that OP2 will be 2016 flagship killer but they face a big challenge. Forget about 2016 flagships, forget about phones like GS6, LG G4. Will the OnePlus 2 tackle the challenge thrown by Motorola, with Moto X Style flagship smartphone. In this post, we tell you which is the best phone. Do note that this is purely based on paper specifications as we are yet to try any of these two phones.

OnePlus 2 advantages

Motorola Moto X Style advantages

1. Looks much better than theOnePlus 2.
2. Bigger 5.7” display (minimal difference in phone’s dimension), 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution (1080p on OnePlus 2)
3. Far wider LTE band support on same phone (OnePlus 2 comes as a different variant in USA)
4. LTE Cat 6 enables 300Mbps speeds (OnePlus 2 has LTE cat 4 with 150Mbps)
5. IP52 certified water repellent coating
6. Front facing LED flash for selfie lovers
7. Pure Android experience
8. Fast charging enabled. 35% of charge in 15 minutes
9. Dual front facing stereo speaker
10. NFC
11. Far better customization,with Moto Maker

Conclusion

While the fingerprint reader, optical image stabilization and faster chip on OnePlus 2 is amazing, the features like QuadHD 5.7” display, microSD memory expansion, pure android experience, fast charging tip the scales in favour of Moto X 3rd gen. Built-in NFC will be helpful once Android Pay starts its penetration into key markets. Motorola also offers much better customization options (not just changing the back case) with Moto Maker. The Snapdragon 808 is known to run much cooler than Snapdragon 810 which is famous for overheating and speed throttling to reduce heat. We cannot ignore the fact that the OnePlus One had severe amount of bugs and manufacturing defects when it first came out and that their service infrastructure is not as widespread as Motorola’s. Its time to vote.
