OnePlus Hydrogen OS to be announced on May 28th
While Google is supposedly busy ramping up work on the next version of its open source operating system, Android M, Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is gearing up to announced its own customized version of Android, Hydrogen OS.
OnePlus had a partnership with Cyanogen Inc to use the latter’s operating system (based on Android, with Google Play compatibility) on its devices. With that partnership ending recently, OnePlus had announced Oxygen OS, its own slightly modified version of stock Android 5.0 Lollipop for the OnePlus One.
This new announcement of Hydrogen OS is likely a Chinese version of Oxygen OS, aimed at its audience in China. OnePlus is reportedly aiming to add battery life and performance improvements to Hydrogen OS. The announcement is set to happen on May 28th in China, coinciding with the Google I/O conference, which also starts on May 28th.
