NVIDIA announce GeForce GTX960 midrange graphics
NVIDIA has today announced brand new GPU, the GeForce GTX 960. GTX 960 is a higher mid range GPU, powered by Nvidia’s GM206 silicon that has 2.9 billion transistors. The new silicon is based on Maxwell architecture and this provides great power at an affordable price tag. The silicon is built on 294 mm2 die-area, the memory bus is 128-bit wide, a maximum of 2GB of GDDR5 memory and thanks to the wide bus, just four memory chips are needed to hit 2GB RAM. The starting price of GTX960 will have a starting price of $199.99.
Other specications include 1,024 CUDA cores, 6-pin single PCIe power connector, 1127MHz CPU, 1178MHz GPU, 7GHz memory, 64 TMUs, 32 ROPs. The GTX960 will draw a maximum power of 120 watts.
