Nokia Store to Opera Mobile Store migration program begins today
Nokia and Microsoft reached an agreement with Opera to migrate Nokia Store users to Opera Store, for users of Nokia’s feature-phones – the Asha series and the numbered S40 devices. Today, that migration process has been put into motion, with Nokia announcing that you get one chance to complete migration of your apps.
Steps to migrate:
- On the Nokia Publish site, provide your consent to have your apps migrated to Opera
- Confirm your publisher information
- Using the pre-selected list, check and confirm which apps you would like to migrate
- Following your submission, you will receive an email from Opera. Follow the instructions in that email to visit the Opera Publisher Portal, and accept the Terms and Conditions to complete the process.
Nokia’s Store will be shut down soon. In case you provide apps for Nokia’s S40 series, you will have to complete publishing/updating apps in the Nokia Store before February 18th. While the migration program has begun today, you get up to March 15th to complete the process. You get only one shot at migration though, so keep that in mind. Nokia recommends you to migrate all your apps to the Opera Store and then manage them there instead of Nokia Store.
