Nokia announces Premium Developer Program for Asha series
Nokia’s Asha series of feature phones (powered by Nokia S40 OS) has showed the world that feature phone can be profitable and can drive a company forward. From what we heard, Asha series has been doing extremely good in many markets, thanks to great app ecosystem which his uncommon for feature phones. To boost the ecosystem further, Nokia has today announced a premium Developer Program focusing on Asha feature phones. This program follows a developer program that started for Lumia series in 2012 which turned out to be the most successful developer program launched by Nokia.
To be eligible for this program, one must have published atleast two apps (any mobile app ecosystem). The benefits from this program are divided into two tiers.
1) Eligible developers are qualified for free productivity tools
- Free Asha 310 full touch phone
- Expanded remote device access
- 2 Nokia Tech Support tickets
2) Once developer submits the application, dev can avail
- Promotion on Nokia Store that results in better app visibility among end users or
- $500 worth paid ad campaigns on Nokia Ad Exchange (at around 120 advertisement networks across the globe).
“We want to reward apps that really engage the user. We’ll be looking for high-quality graphics and user interface, plus great user reviews,” with a minimum rating of four stars from at least 25 Nokia Store user reviews.” said, Kenny Mathers, director of developer programs and monetisation at Nokia.
