Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus or New Nokia 6 – Whats your choice?
Nokia launches three mobiles in India
Nokia has refreshed its line of mobile with new variants of their existing mobiles. HMD Global has introduced 3 new mobiles variants in the market: Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the all-new Nokia 6 (2018). All these 3 variants run on Android One program from Google. These mobiles ship with Android Oreo out of the box. Although these are not entirely new mobiles, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the all-new Nokia 6 (2018) are upgrades to existing base models.
Nokia 8 Sirocco – Key Features
- Ultrathin mobile with Glass/Stainless steel body and premium design language
- 3D curved edge to edge display with a 16:9 aspect ratio
- Minimal bezels around the pOLED 2k 5.5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass
Nokia 8 Sirocco is not a major upgrade in terms of internal hardware of the Nokia 8. It brings in design enhancements and a few minor hardware upgrades. Below is the difference between the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 8 (2017)

Just like the Nokia 8 at launch, the Sirocco edition is also heavily priced. Nokia 8 received a massive price cut and it is now priced at Rs 28999, which must have been the original price if HMD had wanted to take on the heavily competitive Indian mobile market. But I am sure HMD will come around and reduce the price of Sirocco edition as well. Nokia 8 is outdated now and Nokia 8 Sirocco is over-priced and neither of these is my choice. So lets now move on to the next mobile.

Nokia 7 Plus is a clearly a step up from its predecessor. It fills a gap in the 25k mobile segments. In this price range, it competes with Moto X4 but when the specifications are compared, it competes with Redmi Note 5 Pro. Redmi Note 5 Pro beats the Nokia 7 Plus in price, but we will have to wait for the review to find out if these Nokia 7 Plus is worth the price tag. At this price, it comes very close to Nokia 8 as well. For the time being, the Nokia 7 Plus is a good choice comparing all the 3 Nokia device launched.

Clearly, you can see that there is not much to rejoice from the new Nokia 6, except for the processor. It is again over-priced compared to the other phones in the market with similar specifications. I am not excited about the Nokia 6 either.
But as you can see, Nokia 7 Plus is clearly the most interesting device among the 3 devices launched. These phones will be available in the market from April this year. I will be getting hold of the Nokia 7 Plus and will do a detailed review of the Nokia 7 Plus. If you have any questions about the Nokia 7 Plus, you know how to reach me, if you are reading this.
