New Windows Phone payout markets and billing connections announced
Microsoft has announced that six new developer payout markets (Afghanistan, Iraq, Montenegro, Serbia, Timor-Leste, and Ukraine) are now part of the huge 122 markets. Developers in these markets will be able to submit free and paid applciations to Windows Phone Store (via Dev Center) and these apps reach customers in 191 markets. Also, Microsoft has added 15 new mobile phone operator billing partners since August 2012 and as of today, there are 25 partners in 19 markets. Surprisingly, that is more number of partners than Google has for Play Store. This partnership means that the subscribers under the operator will be able to use operator billing for making in-store purchases. As operator billing charger a bit more than the usual card based payment, according to Microsoft, developer earns three times more money per active user on a paid application.
“Finally, I want to point out that we continue to incorporate your feedback and streamline the app submission process. Recently the Dev Center team enabled cancelling submissions, rotating screenshots and automatic screenshot resizing – all items you indicated needed improvement. You can read more about these enhancements on the Windows Phone Developer blog. Next, we’ll add the ability to review your app submission, giving you a chance to make sure everything looks right, before you actually submit. I encourage you to watch for a post from Rushmi Malaviarachchi in the coming week that will provide details on all the latest improvements.” said, Todd Brix, General Manager, Windows Phone Apps and Store
