Mozilla launches privacy-oriented Firefox Hello video chat service
Mozilla has launched a new chat service, built right into the Firefox browser called Firefox Hello. The non-profit organization had been testing this service since October last year, but now it has finally made its way to the stable stream of Firefox.
The core idea of of Firefox Hello is absolute simplicity with a focus on privacy. You don’t have to give up your email address and other personal information to start using the service. All you need is the latest Firefox browser (it will work even if your chatmate doesn’t have Firefox installed on his/her system). Locate the Firefox Hello icon, start a new chat, you’ll get a link that you can then send to the other person.
That sounds very simple. Now, I know there are a plethora of chatting apps out there, so it may be difficult to get your friends to start using another new service, but what with Firefox Hello not requiring you to create another account, it may not be that difficult to get your friends to at least give it a try.
