Mozilla launches Firefox for iOS, first public preview rolling out
Mozilla is finally bringing its free and open source browser Firefox to iOS. The third most popular browser in the world will be launched in the App store sometime later this year. To make sure the public release is smooth, Mozilla is beginning a public alphe/beta test starting in New Zealand.
Firefox for iOS will come with a good set of features in the preview version itself. Things like Intelligent Search will let you view predicted results and an option to choose the search provider on the go. There will be account sync as well, letting you carry your bookmarks, history, passwords and tabs from your desktop, laptop or other devices you use Firefox on. A neat Visual Tabs feature gives you an overview of your open tabs in a cards view so you can switch between them easily.
Firefox for iOS will be available as a public preview. While initially the preview will be available only in New Zealand, Mozilla will be adding more countries soon. The organization will be collecting user feedback before expanding the preview availability.
